PLEASE FOLLOW THESE CAREFULLY
MEASURE TO APPLY TO THE PROPER THICKNESS
If using one gallon can:
Carefully measure an area that is exactly 50 square feet or 5 ft. x 10 ft.
If using 5-gallon pail:
Carefully measure an area that is exactly 250 square feet or 10 ft. x 25 ft.
Measure, dont guess! Apply the entire contents to that measured area. This will allow the product to set up and dry to the proper thickness is the key to a successful waterproofing application and long term durability.
METHODS OF APPLICATION: Brush or Broom, Roller or Airless Sprayer
BRUSH OR BROOM APPLICATION
On residential roofs, an easy, practical and effective application is to use a broom with long, very soft bristles, laying the roof coating onto the surface to create a continuous, seamless waterproofing membrane.
ROLLER APPLICATION
On small roof areas, a very smooth, very short nap (1/8) roller can be used if you work very slowly and with very light pressure on the roller so not to whip air into the coating which will cause bubbles to develop on the surface. Remember the objective is to apply the proper thickness of coating, NOT to spread out the coating like a normal paint.
AIRLESS SPARY APPLICATION
On larger roof surfaces ROOFCOAT may be applied using conventional airless spray equipment. The following airless spraying system is recommended by GRACO for spray application:
- Graco Airless Spray Pump GM 5000 or GM 7000
- Silver Plus Airless Spray Gun
- Reverse-A-Clean RAC IV Tips

DO NOT THIN PRODUCT MUST BE APPLIED FULL STRENGTH as it is supplied by USA TOPCOAT. NEVER THIN, DILUTE or ADULTERATE with any other material. Any THINNING WILL REDUCE the percentage of solids, which will adversely affet the adhesiveness, hiding and sealing ability as well as the durability of the applied coating.
